Linux upgrade

Welcome to the Linux and open source upgrade web site.

Are you tired of always having to update your anti-virus software?  If you are frustrated with running Microsoft Windows and other proprietary software, I can help you to upgrade your computer by installing the Linux operating system and open source applications.

Windows operating systems are notoriously susceptible to attack by viruses.

Gnome desktopThe image to the right is what the Gnome desktop looks like when we first install Fedora Core 4 Linux.  Click on the image to see a it full sized.  Gnome is the default desktop that comes with the Fedora Core Linux distribution, but it is not the only choice. Gnome is clean and uncluttered.  You should have no difficulty getting used to it.  It is easy to customize to suit your needs.

I can come to your home and install Linux for you for you.  The job will typically take from three to four hours and I charge $120 for this service.  You will not have to take your computer to the shop and leave it for days or weeks.  You will not have to spend weeks searching the internet to learn how to do it.  There are no hidden charges.  As long as your computer has sufficient capacity, there is nothing else to buy.  We can install Linux in a dual boot mode so that you can choose Windows or Linux when you start your computer. This way, you will be able to see for yourself how Linux will work for you. If and when you decide to remove Windows from your computer, I can help you with that, too.
